KISS THE DEVIL? LET THEM HAVE IT!

KISS THE DEVIL? LET THEM HAVE IT!

Proverbs 18:21
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

The main targeted spot of Friday’s (November 13, 2015) awful terror attack in France was a concert hall in which a total number of 89 people were gunned down; so sad! Latest pictures release captured the last few moments to this deadly attack where both men and ladies were seen making signs and gestures of the devil’s horn, shouting and singing along with the band, and guess what the song was? Kiss the Devil! Which has part of its lyrics as “Will you kiss the devil? I will love him and kiss his tongue” and so on… Well, the old evil thief (John 10:10) who is always nearby (1 Peter 5:8) immediately responded and extended his love back to them. Watch what you say!

What are the songs you sing or words you frequently joke with? Are they evil or edifying (Ephesians 4:29)? Take heed! Lest you perish as read today. Psalms 34:13 says “Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile”. Perhaps that was the case of Derek and Chris who bungled a warehouse in Croydon in 1953. Derek was nabbed by Police Cop Sidney Miles, who also attempted to arrest Chris upstairs. But! Derek quickly shouted, “Let him have it” and Chris shot the Police dead. Derek Bentley, 19 was hanged for that statement (LET HIM HAVE IT) while Chris, who shot spent only 10 years (Under-18).

Friend! Wouldn’t it have been far better if Derek had kept quiet? Or come to think of it! What if he meant that Chris should just surrender the gun. However, after several considerations, in 1998, the UK Government pardoned him in death, but it was too late. Eh! I pray, your mouth shall not bring your destruction in Jesus name. Why? Because words are powerful! (Proverbs 21:23). As we coast towards the end of the year; learn to bridle your tongue (Proverbs 17:28), cut down unnecessary social gatherings, examine your companies of friends and work on self discipline (1 Corinthians 9:27, 15:33-34) and it shall be well with you (Isaiah 3:10). You want to pray! Are you Born Again?

“Most battles we face now are results of curses and words spoken into our lives during times of provocation and days of ignorance.”
