AFTER THE STORM
Psalm 56:3 – What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. (KJV)
Read: Psalms 30:5
The Bible recorded several people with unfavourable circumstances who encountered Jesus and got a change of story. One of them was the man at the Pool of Bethesda, who had been there for 38 years. He had no hope since no one could carry him into the pool whenever the angel stirred the water. But when Christ intervened, he was made whole (John 5:1-15).
It doesn’t matter what the critics and medics have said; if you genuinely look up to God, He will perfect your story. Know that without a test, there won’t be testimony. The man at the Pool of Bethesda would not have experienced the power of God without his circumstances, which have become an encouragement to us this day.
Beloved, have you allowed yourself to become distracted by your challenges and the issues of life? If yes, never forget that before a major downpour comes a mighty storm. What you need to do during a storm is prepare for the rain. David, in today’s Bible reading, gave an indication of what to do in difficult times. It is to trust in the Lord. The confidence you have in God will determine the level of your faith and prayer. As you wait on God, there will be glory after the gory, healing after the halting, peace (pleasure) after the pain, succour after the siege, and joy after the junk.
PRAYER
Hymn: Power in the Blood – Lewis E. Jones (1899)
1. Blood of Jesus! Cleanse me from head to toe!
2. Father, the world is so troubled; please deliver my family, neighbours, the Church, and me from the turbulence and make us a shining light.
3. Agenda of hell to drag me to shame, faithlessness and perdition, scatter!
(MIDNIGHT PRAYER)
1. Father, have mercy and heal the world.
2. Lord, remove every pain, sorrow, failure, and poverty from my life.
3. I don’t want my journey on earth to be like the feet passing on the rock. Father, help me fulfil my destiny.
YOUR SUN WILL SHINE AGAIN!
