VICTORY ASSURED

I return all the glory to God Almighty for delivering me from my enemies. After I prayed the midnight prayers for March 21st, I slept off and had a dream where I was on my bed and heard a voice telling me to get up and see what was on the floor. I obeyed, and behold, I saw maggots, of which some were falling but didn’t touch my bed.

Again! The same voice instructed me to sprinkle the room with anointing oil, water, and salt. While sprinkling and singing warfare songs, I saw a woman and her daughter looking at me through a door, they couldn’t move, and I sang that song out of my dream. I want to thank God because I never knew what the enemy planned, but He gave me victory.

THE GOOD FRIDAY

THE GOOD FRIDAY

Luke 23:39-43 (43) – Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.” (NIV)

Read: John 11:25–27

Today is Good Friday because of Christ’s crucifixion and death on the cross at Calvary. Going by the account of Jesus’ agony, it is hard to physically see anything good about the day. This is why some countries call Good Friday “Sorrowful Friday”. Whatever the name of the day, Good Friday holds great significance, as the suffering and death of Jesus signalled a landmark moment for humanity.

The devil’s greatest error was to coordinate Jesus’ execution because he had no idea that the Saviour would rise on the third day. Christ’s resurrection signified the triumph over sin (death) and brought the hope of eternal life. Good Friday therefore symbolises the beginning of redemption and a season of reflection on God’s sacrifice for mankind. Likewise, the Cross of Calvary signifies mercy, truth, righteousness, and peace (Psalms 85:10). It was these attributes and the power of the cross that saved the convicted criminal in our Bible text from eternal damnation after acknowledging Jesus as the Lord and Saviour.

Beloved, if you have been convicted by the law or feel guilty through sin or other people’s condemnation, you can be saved by confessing your sins and accepting Jesus into your life! This is the beginning of enjoying the benefits of salvation as you press on to live in holiness. However, what could yet make Good Friday a terrible day is when you continue in sin or backslide. This makes God’s redemptive work worthless and defeats the essence of Good Friday and Easter. Make full proof of Good Friday to examine your salvation and reach out to the unsaved.

DON’T GIVE UP!

Proverbs 24:16 – For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief. (KJV)

Read: Proverbs 24:10

There was a man whom no one, including his mother, expected anything good from. This is because he was born in sorrow and given a contrary name, Jabez. However, records show that this man refused to dismiss himself but cried out to God, and his story changed (1 Chronicles 4:9–10). Similarly, an impotent man had been at the pool of Bethesda for 38 years because he had no man to assist him. Yet he never gave up! One day, the man encountered Jesus, and that settled his case (John 5:1–9). I believe God for you this day that your situation is turning around, in Jesus’ name.

What is your story or limitation? People often cite coming from a poor background and a lack of connection as reasons for not getting jobs. Some might have tasted several relationships, fasted, and prayed, all to no avail, and are still single. There may also be someone who is contemplating suicide. I beseech you to stop it and don’t give up! Instead, look beyond the present.

Beloved, if Jabez could fulfil his destiny and the man at Bethesda could have a new beginning, God could breathe on you to transform your story too. Therefore, keep going and believing. There will be light at the end of your tunnel, and you will rise again, as today’s Bible reading admonishes. Above all, Jesus is calling you to repentance if you have not surrendered your life to Him. I encourage you to give your all to Christ. He will strengthen your faith and actualise your dreams.

WHAT IS IN YOUR HAND?

2 Corinthians 9:8 – And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. (NIV)

Read: 2 Kings 4:1-7

Today’s Bible reading reveals God’s ability to make provisions regardless of circumstances. Even more, God can do mightier things with what you already have in your possession. In 2 Kings 4:1-7, there was a widow who was in debt but had a last jar of oil. Elisha told her to borrow extra containers and fill them with the little oil. The woman obeyed the instructions, sold the oil, cleared her debt, and never lacked again.

What do you have in your hands? Identify what God has deposited in you that can be used as a point of expansion and blessing. There was a miserable professor, despite his credentials. He sought God in prayer, and the Holy Spirit inspired him to use his skills to mix groundnuts with honey and sell them. It seemed like a foolish idea, but today, the professor supplies his products to top American organisations.

Beloved, if you are experiencing closed doors or a scarcity of ideas, persist in prayer and be sensitive to looking inward. What you need to expand is within your reach. God will give you a revelation on how to transform your potential into profitability. Be intentional about seeing from the perspective of the Holy Spirit, and run with your vision. Don’t take God out of the equation or limit your capacity to excel. Go start something and fulfil your destiny. The coast is clear!

2 Corinthians 6:14-18 (14) – Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness? (NLT)

Read: 1 Samuel 20-23

David and Jonathan were best friends who complimented each other. Jonathan, in particular, was instrumental in preventing Saul from killing David. Saul tried to eliminate David to preserve the throne for his son, Jonathan. Yet the boy looked after his friend against the plan of his father. The two are a great example of a desirable bond one should have on the journey of life and destiny.

The people you hang out with or the activities you engage in really matter. Check if the people are disciplined and whether the activities are rooted in Christ’s principles. This is significant because the associations you maintain have the power to shape your life. For example, if you are aspiring to choose your spouse, you need to investigate prayerfully and depend on the Holy Spirit to guide you while being watchful. In line with today’s Bible reading, don’t ever think you can change that person after marriage. If they can’t adjust now, what makes you feel they will later? Think and act promptly!

There is also a constant need to examine yourself internally to remove unnecessary attachments. Evacuate anything that hinders your divine calling and purpose. It could be a negative mindset, poor eating habits, worldliness, inordinate affection, or poor time management, among other things. Pray and study the Scriptures while relying on the Holy Spirit. He is the mirror that reveals any extra unwanted baggage in your life. In addition, talk to people who can observe you and counsel you in the right direction.

A NEW SONG!

A NEW SONG!

Psalms 40:1-3 (3) – He has put a new song in my mouth— Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the LORD. (NKJV)

Read: Psalms 98:1-9

There are different types of songs. Songs of sorrow, defeat, loneliness, shame, and victory. However, there is also a new song. When God transforms your circumstances from death to life, it is a new song. This melody is only sung by victors because it is an experiential testimony of God’s mighty works.

David had several encounters with victory that could only come from God. This was why he testified in verses 1–2 of today’s Bible reading: “I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.” After this, David confirmed that God had put a new song in his mouth.

Beloved, I sense that God is about to transform your story, causing you to sing a new song and dance with joy. The question, however, is: do you desire a new song? If your answer is yes, there is grace available right now. You are not reading this devotional by mistake. It is a prophetic piece that requires you to step up your faith and begin to sing that new song you visualise in your heart. The Almighty God will perfect your testimony. Congratulations!

Philippians 1:6 – Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. (NIV)

1. Thank God for the gift of life, a new week, health, friendship, kindness, and provision (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).

2. Saviour: Jesus Christ, in Your mercy, pardon my iniquities and blot out my name from the Book of Death and Hell, in Jesus’ name (Colossians 2:13).

3. Blood of Jesus, wash away every mark of hatred, error, and demotion placed upon my life, in Jesus’ name (Psalm 51:7).

4. Holy Spirit, open my eyes of understanding to know and step into my place of inheritance in Christ, in Jesus’ name (Ephesians 1:15-23 (18).

9. Father, please make this season the beginning of all-round favour and honour in my life, in Jesus’ name (Psalms 102:13-16).

10. From today, I march into my glory days of favour, promotion, and spiritual growth (mention), in Jesus’ name (Isaiah 41:10-13).

I decree! As you march joyfully into your places of engagement this week, you are unstoppable to the enemy, and your rising shall shock many, in Jesus’ name (Amen).

Thank God for the instant answer to prayers, even as you ask for what you desire for the last full week of March 2024. IT SHALL BE DONE!

DIVINE HEALING AND DIRECTION

I thank God for His goodness and protection over my life. Around 1.00am this morning, while praying at midnight, the Holy Spirit told me to dwell on the first prayer point (Father, show me the secrets I need to know), which I did. Suddenly, He says I should open my eyes and switch on my touch. Lo and behold! I saw a scorpion, ready to sting. God delivered me! Secondly, the Lord restored my health. For the past three weeks, I couldn’t go to work. Hence, I prayed with some Scriptures and applied the anointing oil. Today! Because of the anointing, the yoke of sickness was destroyed in my life. I thank God.

DIVINE HEALING

I have regularly followed this prayer ministry since I discovered it online last year. Thank God for this ministry. THE SECOND DEATH! (Part 2)

Hebrews 9:27 – And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: (KJV)

Read: 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18

The most important aspect of human existence is to please God and continually commune with Him. When this fails to happen, there is a danger of spiritual separation. If the person dies in this state of sin and spiritual death, they enter eternity disconnected from God. This is the eternal place of condemnation: the lake of fire, a place of everlasting torment where there is no hope or point of return except for wailing and gnashing of teeth (Matthew 13:36–43).

The reality of the second death must not be taken for granted. The current life you live and your daily actions will determine your destination. If you have committed sin or backslide, never postpone your day of salvation because no one is guaranteed tomorrow. As read in today’s Bible text, when you die in sin, your fate is sealed. Don’t be like King Agrippa, whom Paul preached to, only to reply, “Do you think that in such a short time you can persuade me to be a Christian?” (Acts 26:28). The great Agrippa might currently be yelling in the lake of fire. Earthly possessions and position cannot save you from the second death. Repent now!

To conclude this series, the physical death is not as important as the second death. The reason is that anyone who dies in Christ is assumed to be sleeping and would not partake in the second death (Revelation 20:6). Therefore, rejoice all ye who have lost someone, or the persecuted and those assigned to die. If they sleep in Christ, they will rise again.
