A SEPTEMBER TO REMEMBER (2)
Acts 10:1-33 (31)
He told me, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard, and your gifts to the poor have been noticed by God!
A good offering will naturally attract God’s blessings (2 Corinthians 9:6-8), and yesterday we discussed divine remembrance. So, moving on from there, today we are looking at “How to get God’s Attention through our Sacrifices”. But then, what is a sacrifice? It is something of a big prestige or services rendered to appease someone (God). King Solomon was a perfect example of when he gave 1,000 burnt offerings in a day so that God gave him a blank cheque (2 Chronicles 1:1-12). Similarly, Pa. Abraham having got Isaac at 100 still surrendered him as an offering (Genesis 22:1-18). Why? Because he knew what it meant to move God through faith and obedience (Romans 4:16). No wonder! God fulfilled His covenant with him (Genesis 17:1-10).
Beloved, the question is: ‘Do you need God to remember you in that situation? If yes! Then, you can move Him by your offerings. Because ‘the volume of help you’ll attract depends on the level of your input’ (The Widow’s mite, Mark 12:41-44). In other words, when you’re devoted to selfless giving, you automatically qualify for irrevocable divine blessings (Luke 6:38). Additionally, do you know that before Rachael, Hannah, and Joseph were remembered, they all paid the price of persistently seeking God, faith, and discipline? Therefore, are you willing to sacrifice on the altar of prayer, holiness, evangelism and kingdom building? Think about these things, because you’ll ask for the grace to give your all for God’s sake, come what may! (2 Samuel 24:24). Be Born Again!
PRAYER
1. Father, grant me the grace to sacrifice my all for You.
2. Father, please remember my prayers, labour of love and offerings (mention) and make this month a September to Remember!
