THE DIVINE MERCY

Scriptural patterns demonstrate that mercy precedes divine intervention and miraculous manifestation. Mercy is a prerequisite for salvation because it is the ticket to forgiveness and acquittal from all guilt. Man’s transition from the Adamic nature (sin) to the life in Christ exemplifies this (Romans 6:6–14). Maybe you are a liar, manipulator, murderer, cultist, fornicator, and adulterer, among other things. If you genuinely repent, the mercy of God will speak for you.

The Psalmist in today’s Bible reading testified to God’s mercy, which delivered him from shame and affliction. This confirms that receiving or achieving anything requires the mercy of God. For example, in Luke 17:11–19, the ten lepers’ first statement was, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.” Bartimaeus also attracted Christ’s attention after he said, “Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me” (Mark 10:46–52). When Jesus spotted the man at the pool of Bethesda, He knew he had been in that terrible condition for years, and He was moved with sympathy to heal him (John 5:1–15).

Beloved, daily and more than ever, you need mercy because it serves as the foundation for attaining heights through grace, regardless of its deservingness. Hebrews 4:16 says, “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” The key word here is to come boldly to access the realm of mercy. This implies acknowledging the work of grace, praying, and activating your faith. By this, mercy will speak for you!

3. Holy Spirit, nullify the agenda of the kingdom of darkness for my life, family, and Church.
