“GARBAGE TRUCK” 🚜

A taximan almost hit a car which suddenly stopped on the road. Even though the car driver was at fault, yet he screamed offensive words at the cabman. But the cabman would smile and waved at the enraged man so that peace reigned. At that point, the taxi passenger asked why and how he was relaxed and welcoming, despite being offended.
The driver responded by comparing the human mind with a ‘Garbage Truck’, which gets filled with all kinds of dirt— battle with addictions, marital problems and career frustrations, among others. Hence, many are facing challenging situations which they let-out through their actions. The taximan then advised that we should never allow our issues to spill on others at home, work, church or even on the streets. Citing the example of Christ in our text, He was rejected by His own (Luke 4:14-30), teased by the Pharisees, spat at and crucified (Matthew 16-23, 26), yet what came out of Him was ‘Love’.
Beloved, when the world lets its frustration on you, be calm and think of ‘what Jesus would do’. Oh! ‘No one can insult you without your permission’; it’s what you allow into your heart that dictates your output (Matthew 15:11). Life’s actions and trials are just 10%, but your response is 90%.
WHAT NOW?
Don’t get caught up! Develop a positive thick-skin and give a benefit of doubts in readiness to be tried (Matthew 18:21-22), all in honouring God. More importantly, you need the Holy Spirit to do these, and if need be, accept Jesus now!
