THE WISE OR FOOLISH VIRGINS? 👰🏻
Matthew 25:1-30 (2-4)
Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. The five who were foolish didn’t take enough olive oil for their lamps, but the other five were wise enough to take along extra oil. (NLT)
You have forthcoming exams, but you refused to study; instead, you went on fasting and prayers. Don’t worry! You’ll raise the dead but expect a big zero. Simply because, to achieve outstanding results, we must prepare adequately (2 Timothy 2:15). For example, building a house requires an architectural plan and investment (Luke 14:28-30). Likewise, when starting up a business, you’ll learn to take risks!
In seeking God’s face and evangelism (Act 1:8), we need the Holy Spirit for guidance (Romans 8:26-27). Oh! Are you an intending couple? If yes! You should arrange for counselling and financing; the reason being that, a lack of preparation would lead to intolerance and eventual divorce. Equivalently, many have become relaxed about the return of Christ; so that they are caught unawares as the foolish virgins who failed to prepare in our text.
Therefore, we must endeavour to be like the wise virgins who got prepped for the task ahead. In all things, we ought to set our priorities right and do it; for, there is time for everything under the sun (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8). Accept Jesus today!
