GIVE THANKS! 🤝
1 Thessalonians 5:1-28 (18)
Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. (NLT)
An oil tycoon took his 10-year-old son, Jo on a trip to the village to show him how poor people can be. So, they spent a day on the Spencer’s farm, a family regarded as the poorest and then, the rich man asked his son, “Can you see how deprived they are? What have you observed?”
Jo who had been silent, suddenly replied: “We have a dog, they have four. We have a pool, they have rivers. We have lights, they have stars. We buy foods, they grow theirs. We have security walls, they have friends. We have dictionaries and search engines, but they have the Bible.” Then, he concluded by saying, “Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are.”
Beloved, on what are you still grumbling? Is it your life, marriage, career, ministry, possessions or what to eat? (Matthew 6:25-34). Wait a moment! ‘Does thou even value life?’ If yes! Firstly, give thanks to the Lord as our text reads. Appreciate the breath in your nostrils; for there are people who wish to have what you possess but are shut in the grave. Don’t be an ingrate to God and man, such as the rich fool who thought it was all about his wealth (Luke 12:13-21).
Whatever the challenge in your life, always remember that, ‘when there’s life, there are possibilities (Ecclesiastes 9:4). Life is not all about the wealth but mainly about having the grace of God to witness another day.’ Be Born Again!
