START WITH PRAISE! 🎸
Psalms 47:6-7 (6)
Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises. (NIV)
One key characteristic of a king is that he hardly live without being eulogised. If earthly monarchs cannot rule in absence of honour; how much more our God, who only feed on praises? (Psalms 22:3). He does not eat meals nor save money to survive (Haggai 2:8). Instead, He provides for humanity (Acts 17:28), the birds and grasses of the field (Matthew 6:26-34). What a mighty God!
The truth of the matter is that God requires unlimited worship (Revelation 4:10-11). No wonder, Jesus said, ‘if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.’ (Luke 19:40— NIV). In other words, there are dangers of automatic replacement when we fail to adore God. Perhaps, that’s why David urged us in our text, to sing songs to God, and further declared, “I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.” (Psalms 34:1— KJV). Likewise, Paul and Silas rendered unequalled worship to heaven so that they regained freedom (Acts 16:25-26).
Beloved, ‘praises trigger God to action’; and with this understanding, I like you to discard your worries and challenges because as you start this newest day of August (with quality praise), your long-awaited healing, favour, promotion and marital fruitfulness among other blessings, will unfold. Oh! As your exaltation and prayers ascend to heaven, every wall of Jericho on your path shall fall, in Jesus’ name (Joshua 6). Be Born Again!
