It was Saturday, October 23, 1999 when Chelsea led Arsenal by 2-0 at half time. All hopes were lost so that the fans had began to leave the stadium. But, power changed hands in the 2nd half when Kanu scored in the 75th and 83rd minute, to equalise. He then scored a superb winner in the 90th minute to make it a memorable day for Arsenal. Consequently, Kanu got inducted into the club’s ‘Hall of Fame’ and was nicknamed ‘King Kanu’.
Isn’t that a great comeback, that all hopes got restored? And that’s why it doesn’t matter how the year 2019 has been, the good news is that you can still bounce back to finish tops, as read in our text. Besides, studying the story of Joseph, you’ll discover that he had a tough start when hated by his brethren. Yet, didn’t he fulfil his dream? He even fed his haters (Genesis 37-50). Oh! I decree to someone this fresh morning— all that was not enough in your life, marriage and career, shall now become extra-abundantly sufficient, in Jesus’ name.
Beloved, what are those expectations you couldn’t meet in the first part of the year? Perhaps, it’s your business proposal, career progression, marital obligations or spiritual growth among others. Whatever it is! Call on the Lord, and never give up— work harder, because “Better is the end of a thing…” (Ecclesiastes 7:8). In other words, “Don’t compare your past and current (January to June) with the glory ahead (July to December)”, God is faithful to accomplish all your great visions according to His purpose (Ephesians 3:20). However, you must first be Born Again. Surrender all to Jesus today, and find rest! (Matthew 11:28-30)
