WHAT CAN YOU SOW?

Bible Text: Genesis 26:11-22 (12)

To sow is likened to a businessman who takes the risk in investing to make gains, or a farmer who plants and reap fruits in harvest season. Moreover, remember what Galatians 6:7 says, that ‘whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap’. Meaning that: you cannot plant cocoa seeds and yield mango. Never! In today’s reading, the bible tells us that Isaac sowed in the land and earned bountifully. Similarly, in 2 Chronicles 1:1-12 Solomon did what was never done in history to give 1,000 burnt offerings in a day, and guess what? In verse 7, God showed up Himself. I pray! Today, God shall arise and show up to fight your battles, in Jesus’ name.

Beloved, you might begin to wonder, ‘but why do I need to sow?’. It’s because there is time for everything; there’s a season to plant and to harvest (Ecclesiastes 3:1-2). You want to excel in life and career? Then, you need diligence and hard-work. Oh! You desire to be an influential business mogul but you are scared to invest; you need to sow to make profits (Psalms 126:5-6). And so, the question is: ‘what can you and I sow in giving for God? Eh! I don’t have the money. But then, you can invest your time to promoting God’s work. How about spending your time to fast and pray because it’s the best seed you can plant to harvest miracles?

Conclusively, have you seen a farmer who plant seeds on a bushy land? Never! Meaning that: Before we can sow, we need to clear our grounds. What are the tares (sins) and weeds (distractions) in your life? When you clear them, it will be easier to sow (Isaiah 59:1-2). Be Born Again!

1. Father, please grant me the grace and every ability to sow in sacrifice for You.

2. Lord, empower me for Your glory, and bless me so I can be a blessing to others.
