MR. DON’T FORCE THE BALL! ⚽
Luke 5:1-7 (5)
And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.
Several years ago, while playing football with some Brit guys I was often shouting, “Don’t force the ball”. They would laugh and soon nicknamed me, “Mr. Don’t Force the Ball” … which actually means: ‘pass the ball to the nearest man rather than making a long-range pass which could be intercepted by opponents’. Hmm… In life, many are victims of aimlessness of heart and wrong purpose; which is that we may have been forcing our ways through situations and channels unauthorised by God. For example, in today’s reading, Peter toiled all night and couldn’t catch a single fish. Perhaps, he relied on his fishing skills and experience. But, when Christ stepped in, Peter’s scarcity turned to abundance so much that his net began to break and the ship filled beyond limits.
Beloved, I’m praying for you that this month, God shall turn your labours to eras of favour and multiplication in Jesus’ name. Nevertheless, what have you been trying to achieve using human efforts that you’ve now began to lose hope? Oh! I know you’ve toiled to get the jobs, designed business proposals and tried several relationships but all to no avail. Check! You may have been forcing the ball. Therefore, you need to surrender all to Jesus (1 Peter 5:7), because physical abilities and man’s connection will fail you. All you need is divine assistance for a life of ease (Isaiah 41:10-13).
“Put God first this time (Proverbs 4:18) and see Him straighten all your crooked paths (Isaiah 45:1-3).” Be Born Again!
